The pasting, gluing, tying or fixing of two or more pieces or things together is called binding. This is one word of the English language that has gotten as many versions as there are professions in a social structure. If a person starts research on the uses of it, a long list can be prepared in just a short while. This can include all arts and craft professional uses. For instance, artists use different kinds of binding liquids to make colors last long. The computer language has got its own meaning of the word. The furniture manufacturers and builders use other kinds of bonding liquids, while medical doctors use the term of binding in surgical procedures and so on. However, the typical use of this word has always brought books to mind. Since the time of awareness human beings have been adopting and applying ways of communicating and spreading messages, information or knowledge. These efforts included pictures and writings also. It was probably the time of paper invention when the idea of binding must have come to their minds. Fixing papers together used to be a skill very few people mastered or liked to master, since it was done by hand. Then, many developments in science made it easier for publishers and printers on a large scale. Even hand written scripts or hand drawn and made pictures and illustrations can also be stored in bonded form for neat and easy accessible storage or placing. Through small size binding machines this act can be performed easily on a very small scale in a home or an office. This bonding procedure comes with many varieties in machines and materials and takes just a few minutes and pages to stay bound for years and years. Since these machines are small, simple and easy to use, even schools and colleges have started providing this facility to their students and staff.
To laminate means to construct a product or different version of material by uniting two or more layers of a certain material together. This process of making a laminate is called lamination, which refers to sandwiching, usually something flat, between layers of plastic, sealing them with heat and pressure. Hence, lamination is a term used for the procedure of giving something a protective layer or coating through the application of a layer of plastic film. In this example, the plastic film is used as the laminator. Besides this, the lamination machine is also called a laminator. In olden times papers or similar fragile and valuable materials were mostly kept in waterproof casing made of leather or boxes made of metal or wood. Just like other introduced practices, this too went through many developments and changes. The need of adopting better ways of keeping valuables safe and protected became the mother of the invention of the lamination machine. With a fast speed machine, lamination can be done quickly in a matter of minutes and the material to be laminated can be safe for years to come. Lamination prevents prints or documents from creases, sun damage, wrinkling, staining, smudging, grease markings, fingerprints and other environmental concerns, which otherwise can consequently be un-presentable or can even lose information on it. This means that a laminator provides ultimate protective layer to the most delicate and valuable works. It provides superb and consistent high quality protection for documents, photographs and delicate original artworks, creative work place mats certificates, etc. The lamination facility is available in a large variety of styles. It is done according to requirement, which may include different materials and procedures for cold laminating foils, mounting glossing, single sided lamination, etc. The laminating machines are an easy and affordable solution for many needs and requirements for safekeeping valuable, important or otherwise favorite items. A laminator, which now comes in many different varieties of plastic film for coating, is also used on furniture and in offices and homes .
While doing our daily jobs, household chores or educational assignments, we generate plenty of paper piles. These paper piles grow deeper thanks to greetings-cards, gift-wrappings or junk mails. People have been looking for ways of disposing off such papers, especially for security reasons, in case of important documents getting into the wrong hands. It is a blessing that a small mechanical device known as the paper shredder has been invented. This machine is available in a variety of designs, shapes and sizes according to the scale of paper shredding required in a home, small office or a large organization. For example, a paper shredder is available as a personal shredder or desk side small office shredder, medium or large office/department shredder, high capacity or bulk shredders, packaging material shredders or combination shredders, etc. This important device, besides having a variety in size according to requirement, also varies in the styles in which it shreds papers. There is a variety of shapes that paper is shredded into. You may have strip-cut shredders, which are also known as straight-cut and crosscut shredders that provide more security. This is because paper is cut vertically and horizontally into confetti-like pieces, which can be recycled especially for paper-machete craft. Shredders are available with various combinations of features such as automatic start/stop for a shredder that detects the presence of paper. A buzzer is also handy because it alerts you when paper gets jammed. Some shredders provide a light built-in basket or racks for plastic bags. Such shredders generally cost a bit more than the stand-alone versions. A paper shredder with a clear basket or a window helps to check the paper level and see when the basket needs to be emptied. Some units might include an extra opening for inserting paper that does not need to be shred. Some companies manufacture shredder bags, which come only in sizes to fit the dimensions of specific models, while ordinary trash bags work fine. To keep a paper shredder operating with high efficiency, the blades should be oiled regularly with special formulated shredder oil. This oil lubricates without leaving residue on the cutters so it does not attract paper dust that might lead to clogging of cutters.
